At Colegrove Park Elementary School, we pledge to instill a focus on academic standards rooted in creativity, collaboration, communication and critical thinking, all the while promoting a sense of belonging for students, faculty, staff and family alike through citizenship and social responsibility. These 21st Century learning skills or “Colegrove Park Cornerstones” will serve as the foundation for our teaching and learning community as we cultivate the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure our students are on track to be college and career ready.
My goal as Principal of Colegrove Park is to foster a collaborative, innovative, technology-rich, student-centered learning environment complimented by varied instructional methodologies to meet the needs of our learners. Student voice, problem-solving, and safe and healthy choices must work in partnership with Colegrove Park’s academic expectations to inspire our students to be the best they can be, not only in thought, but in action as model citizens of our school. To this end, our entire school must work together to promote a safe and orderly learning environment where students can be celebrated for their unique individualism, build healthy peer relationships and engage in the school day through positive interactions with all members of the Colegrove Park community.
As the demands of living in the 21st Century and complexities of meeting the needs of our learners increase, I invite families, students and community partners to take part in Colegrove Park’s citizenship endeavors through regular two-way communication with faculty and administration; attendance, planning and supporting our school events; volunteering; joining our PTG and/or serving as a member of the Colegrove Park Council. Research shows that family involvement promotes school success of every child, at every age. Our Colegrove Park community welcomes your support and participation throughout the year.
I am honored to serve the students, faculty, and families of Colegrove Park Elementary School as Principal. If you have any questions or concerns, at any time, please contact your child’s teacher or myself as needed.
As the wise Dr. Seuss once said, “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose!” I look forward to the direction we will travel together this school year!!
